From Art to Design: Celebrating International Museum Day
Every year on May 18th, we celebrate International Museum Day. A very special occasion for those of us who believe in the power of culture. Over 150 countries join this initiative with open days, workshops, and special events designed to bring museums closer to people.
It’s a day for celebration, yes—but also a time to reflect: How do we connect with our audiences? How can we make the museum experience last beyond the visit? That’s where cultural merchandising comes in as a tool to extend the museum experience. A mug, a notebook, or a tote bag can be much more than a souvenir: they can evoke a feeling, share an idea, or bring someone back to the inside of a museum.
This year’s theme, “Museums for Education and Research”, reminds us that merchandising can also educate—through responsible materials, local production, and meaningful messages that inspire and inform.
At The Business Look, we join this celebration by reaffirming what drives us: creating beautiful, thoughtful objects with a story to tell. We believe every souvenir should spark curiosity and conversation beyond its walls. That’s why we work hand in hand with cultural institutions to design collections that are meaningful, sustainable, and truly memorable.
